Connecting to MS SQL Server 2005 with the Database Explorer [message #194224] Sun, 10 June 2007 21:52

Hello,
I am trying to connect to the MS SQL Server 2005 with the Database
Explorer under Linux (openSuse). I'm using the Microsoft SQL Server
2005 JDBC Driver 1.1. I am following the instructions found at
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/community/tutorials/RDBTutor ial/RDBTutorial.html
but when I try to connect, I get a vague error message saying:
"Connection to SQL Server failed.
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
Nothing gets logged in the Eclipse log file.
What is more surprising is that I also tested connecting to that
database with the Eclipse Data Source Explorer and it worked - that
means this is not a network connection issue.

Do you have any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks,
P.B.
