Problems with UI running Eclipse 3.0 M6 (GTK) on RHEL 3.0 Linux [message #193087] Thu, 12 February 2004 09:16 Go to next message

I'm running Eclipse 3.0 M6 x86/GTK 2 build on Red Hat EL 3.0, using the
IBM 1.4.1 SR1 Java SDK using the J9 JVM (-Xj9 option).

As I use Eclipse, I get messages in the Error Log which seem to relate
to the user interface. These messages arrive in pairs:

1) "Unhandled event loop exception"
2) "Widget is disposed"

Once these messages start to appear, the user interface quickly becomes
unusable and the only solution I have found is to close Eclipse and
start it again.

Does anyone know the cause of this problem and if there is a fix that I
can apply?

Thanks in advance,
Yours, Mike Edwards.

My advice would be to update to M7 (probably out today or tomorrow), and
see if the problem still occurs. M6 was a shaky build all-round, and --
though I haven't heard of your specific bug -- it wouldn't surprise me if
the problem you describe has been fixed.

If the problem is still happening for you in M7, please file a bug and
inclue the Exception traces as an attachment.

Thanks,
Doug.
