A project already exists with this name. How can I import it (directly)? [message #191980] Sat, 03 February 2007 20:58 Go to next message

I try to add a project (php website) to my projects in eclipse. The
project is already in the file system since I used dreamweaver before. I
chose the My Sites folder as the workspace for eclipse and try to import
the directories, my websites, to the eclipse environment.
That way it gives the error:
A project already exists with this name.
How can I make these files available as a project. It seems quite
senseless if I should first physically move them and then rename them to
move them back. Probably there is a better way.
Suggestions are welcome.

This error appears when you have the folder with the same name as your
project in your workspace.
You have to change your workspace and then import that project in one of
two possible ways:
1. If it is an eclipse project, just follow standard eclipse import,
then existing project into workspace, select root directory and
*uncheck* "copy projects into workspace".
2. If it is not an eclipse project, you have to create one ("New->...(I
do not know what php project name is ;) ), and then add folder linked to
the your project.

Please let me know if this helps.
