Hi,

xcore seems to be a solution for merging models (and for convincing
people who prefer text based tools of EMF).

We already have models in the ecore format together with their genmodel
files.

Is there an easy way to convert them into xcore files?

Thanks and Regards,
Dirk

Dirk,

You can use "Export Model..." to in the Generator to export your
*.genmodel to *.xcore.

Hi Ed,

thanks for the hint.

For others reading this:

"Export Model..." was available after installing the XCore SDK. If you
have models depending on each other start with those on which the others
depend.

Be warned that your code gets re-generated immediately after the new
xcore file enters your workspace and that it may sligthly differ from
what you got with the original ecore/genmodel pair.

I think you can go the opposite way, i.e. create the ecore/genmodel pair
by creating a new genmodel and selecting the Xcore model importer.

You can also create Ecore Tools diagrams from the xcore file directly
but can't use them to modify the model.
