When I have a file open in eclipse, and I press ctr+h to do a file search, when it finds the file, it shows it on a search tab. When I click on the file in the search tab, it replaces the existing file from the main window. I want to keep the existing file and add the new file next to it.

Try turning off the reuse of editors to show matches.

Try turning off the preference for reusing editors.
