Came across this weird problem. I am using BIRT Designer 3.7 and recently updated to IE10 to fix some issues with IE9. However after this, preview doesn't work anymore. I click it, use the parameters that worked before, but clicking OK does nothing. No errors even pop up, I click OK and nothing happens at all. I tried changing it to external browser, using both IE and Chrome (installed on work PC) but nothing happens. Tried deleting the rptconfig files as well. Did updating to IE10 make it stop working? Do I need to get another browser like Firefox or Opera? I will need permission for that so I hope I don't have to deal with that hassle.

I can preview the item using Run > View Report at least, just that Report Preview makes my testing faster.

If it helps, I am using the standalone designer.

I'm downloading the 3.7 RCP designer, now. I'll check this out in the morning. There seems to be a problem with the non-RCP version when trying to use IE10 as well, but I get an error message.

I ended up just trying it now. I get an error when attempting to use IE10 with the RCP designer as well. Firefox doesn't work either. Chrome does though. I checked this with the latest version as well, and it works for me with all browsers. Interesting that Chrome doesn't work for you. What version of Chrome are you using? I'm using 27.0.1453.116

Mine is currently 27.0.1453.110. I don't even see an error message really. Seems like I will just have to live with having to use View Report to preview my reports.

Are you still having an issue with this? What all different preference settings did you use that didn't work?
