Hi,
My son is almost 12 and has been playing with programming on Scratch and Hopscotch. He has also gone to camps about video game programming (used Gamemaker). He also built a Minecraft server on our home computer (which I quickly moved to a hosted site!). He is wanting to do more than Scratch & Hopscotch has to offer. I was wondering if Eclipse would be too hard for him or if there are good resources for him to use to learn how to use Eclipse.
Thanks!

Eclipse and Eclipse-based IDEs offer support for many different programming languages. Is there one in particular that he's interested in? For Eclipse itself, http://www.eclipse.org/resources/ and http://help.eclipse.org/juno/topic/org.eclipse.platform.doc.user/gettingStarted/intro/overview.htm would be good starting points. I'm afraid I haven't run across a large amount of information not written with adult minds and experience in mind.
