Hi,
we've been working hard over the last weeks and now we're happy to make
another milestone build for RAP 2.0 available.
Most notably, we have a brand new event system implementation that
allowed us to get rid of some old bugs. We've also cleaned up the
resource manager to make it ready for 2.0. The new client service
interface that has been introduced in M2 finally allowed us to offer
public API to execute JavaScript on the client. You can read through the
list of changes in our New and Noteworthy [1].
Again, we have to apologize for some API changes. After 6+ years, our
API really needs some cleanup. And there will be more changes in M4. But
don't worry, we will keep the number of breaking changes low and let
deprecated classes in place where possible to ease the migration.
We're keeping the RAP 2.0 migration guide [2] up to date, let us know if
you find something missing in there.
As always, you find the bytes on our download page [3], in our
repositories, and also in the Eclipse Kepler repository [4].
We hope you are as excited about RAP 2.0 as we are and the migration
goes smooth for you. Looking forward to M4, which will be published in
just five weeks.
Best regards,
the RAP team
