Hi,
I am trying TPTP for the first time.
(following article
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/tutorials/profili ngtool/profilingexample_32.html)
After creating my standard java project, I opened up the "Profile
Configurations" dialog and set the standard 'Main', 'Arguments' (and
'classpath' tabs)
Facing an issue with the 'Monitor' tab;
In the Monitor tab, there are items organized as a tree; with each item
having a check box against it.
With a checkbox I guess, multiple items can be selected. (but in the
Profile-Configuarations dialog, they work like radio buttons, only 1 item
can be selected.)
for instance; under, Java Profiling JRE 1.5 or newer
we have 4 items;
)Execution Time analysis
)Memory analysis
)Thread analysis
)Probe insertion
All have a checkbox against them, but only one of them can be selected.
If I select 'Java Profiling JRE 1.5 or newer' (the top level tree node)
only 'Execution Time analysis' gets selected.
I do not know, if this is intended behaviour or is something wrong in my
installation.
thx
jeevan
PS:
)Probe insertion item if selected, an error is displayed ...'No probes
are selected for probe insertion'

Hi Jeevan,
They are intended behaviour. The analysis types available in JVM 1.5+
profiler are mutually exclusive and hence the behavior of radio button.
For probekit, you will have to 'Edit Option' of the analysis type to select
a probe file for the instrumentation.
