Good day,

I have tried to follow the instructions from the following document

http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/documents/process/developme nt/Guide-to-TPTP-BIRT-Reports.html

I have been able to run the HTML reports, but I am unable to follow
instructions under “3.1 Modifying the Test Pass Report”, there is no
longer a template directory under the org.eclipse.tptp.test.report.birt.ui
plug-in. Has the implementation changed, if so where can I find
documentation to change the URL test reports? I know it does not make a
difference, but I am new to Eclipse and trying to prove that the TPTP
frame work will work for our requirements

Trying not to re-invent the wheel, is there any documents around that
provide details on a continuous performance testing design or
implementation. We are trying to put a continuous testing system together
so we know something is running slow from a user interaction side before
they call to log a support case. Has this been done before or am I
breaking new ground?

Thank you for your assistance

Regards
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
In TPTP 4.5, the BIRT Test Reports was moved from a General Availability
(GA) component to an As-Is component. As-Is components are primarily
provided for prior users but imply no support (for example, defects, news
group, and mailing lists). The BIRT Test Reports have been repackaged in the
org.eclipse.tptp.test.report.birt plug-in as the As-Is component (see
http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/?buildId=TPTP-4.5 .2-200901201658#AsIsComponents).
However, the URL Performance Test Reports (see
http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/topic/org.eclipse.hyades.te st.doc.user/tasks/tcreateperformancetestreports.htm)
are still packaged in TPTP. These reports are not built using BIRT so they
cannot be modified.

The TPTP URL test type provides:

-HTTP performance testing of Web applications and plug-ins based on
JUnit test classes.
-Editor for creating URL test suites and defining tests (HTTP requests)
and their behavior.
-HTTP proxy recorder to intercept and record HTTP requests from user
interactions with Web applications to create an URL test suite.
-URL test runner for local and remote execution.

For more information, see
http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/topic/org.eclipse.hyades.te st.doc.user/concepts/ctestwithhyades.htm.

The TPTP URL test type can be used for HTTP performance testing of Web
applications, which can be automated using the Automatable Service Framework
(ASF) - see
http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/topic/org.eclipse.hyades.te st.doc.user/tasks/tlaunching-tests-from-scripts-and-applicat ions.htm.
