GenModel Doc in Ecore Diagram Editor [message #139266] Mon, 27 July 2009 15:57 Go to next message

I want to know for what this option is good for in the properties view
of the Ecore Diagram Editor? I'm asking because I want to add some
documentation to the metaclasses in my metamodel. I thought that this
options is good for this as the name suggests it. But when I start the
second Eclipse instance with the generated editor I can't see my text in
that field on the elements being instances of the metaclass where I
added the documentation. So for what is it good for?

regards
Gilbert

Gilbert,

I think you need to change Suppress GenModel Annotations to false.

Ok I did it. And where do I see the documenting text of the metaclass in
the second eclipse instance containing the generated editor?

Gilbert,

That documentation is included in the generated code of your Java model.
For example, if you have created a Metaclass named "Element", if you
look into the generated Element.java class, you should see your text in
the Javadoc associated with that interface.

If you wish to customize the message shown in the bottom status bar of
the generated tree structure editor when you select an attribute in the
Properties View, you can perform that in the *.genmodel file, through
the "Property description" field when you have selected a Feature.

Regards,
Jacques
