Folder copy in Navigator (Package Explorer) [message #10931] Wed, 31 October 2007 13:31 Go to next message

Good morning,

This morning I copied a folder in the Navigator to replicate a jspx (JSF)
page that I needed but with a different name / folder structure.

The copy process worked fine but the copy also grabbed the .SVN folder and
control files for SVN.

This caused problems with SVN in that it thought the folder was already
under version control and I had to manually delete the .SVN folder before it
recognized that this was in fact a new folder that needed to be added to
version control.

Is it possible for SVN / Subversive to hook into the copy action and remove
the inappropriate .SVN control file on this type of action?

Not really a show stopper but a bit of an inconvenience nonetheless.

Dear Steven,

Eclipse Platform does not provide hook for "Copy" action. So, in order to
avoid the problem please use Team->Copy To... action from the pop-up menu
instead of Copy/Paste.
