Hi,

I have a more conceptual question:

I want to create a model that describes some concepts and their relations. Also in this context, the concepts are describes in several languages for the end users. Typically, I would say: Oh... this is an example for OWL. However, OWL and UML do not really fit together. I want to associate model elements of another model with these concepts. For example:

I have a concept "Person" and a data type "Person". Now I want to describe that the data type is an instance of the concept. For that purpose I can choose the Abstraction Dependency, presumed both are modeled in UML.

So now I am not sure: Should I use UML for the modeling of concepts? How can I support multilingual names? Not easy. So but when choosing OWL: How can I combine these two worlds?

Regards,

Tex

Hi

It's difficult. You may find the work on SMOF helps you think about the
limitations of MOF/UML.

Ok thanks.

Currently I see two chances: Either using an own UML profile or linking UML and OWL using OWL IDs. I am still not sure which way to go. We will see Smile
