The Eclipse Foundation is looking for a creative, well organized individual to assist with event organization and implementation of various marketing programs. This person will love working with a diverse community, be active on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and have some project management experience.
The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is the steward of the Eclipse open source community. The Foundation hosts two major conferences a year, plus a number of smaller events, and runs a variety of marketing programs for our member companies. The organization has 15 employees; most are based in Ottawa.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the registration process for the Foundation conferences
- Create content and implement marketing programs to promote the conference and other events, with a specific focus on social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Assist with the overall logistics and operation of the conferences
- Implement marketing programs to increase the awareness of the Eclipse Foundation projects and member activities
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of work experience in the marketing communications area
- Proven experience using Facebook, Twitter, and/or LinkedIn
- Well organized with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-changing environment
- University degree in business or communications, or equivalent
- Comfortable using MS Office or other office productivity tools
- Work in the high-tech sector is preferred
- Experience using graphics packages and creating multi-media content is preferred
