Cannot connect to the internet in Eclipse..using a proxy [message #883193] Thu, 07 June 2012 22:40 Go to next message

Hi All,

I cannot connect to the internet through Eclipse Indigo 3.7.2. I cannot install plug-ins or can update the software. I have proxy which I configured under Network Preferences in General. I also made changes in the Java settings in Control Panel. I also installed Firefox. Set-up all the proxy settings under there and in the Web Browser settings for Eclipse checked Firefox. I can get on the net using Firefox without any issues. I am using Windows XP. The following is the error log-

Some sites could not be found. See the error log for more detail.

The proxy settings are definitely the culprits, since none of the contacted sites seem to work.

I would double-check the proxy settings.

I have the same problem. I even had my employer put me on unrestricted access on the proxy server so I'd know that wasn't an issue.

I HAVE to get around this ASAP! Can the content.jar files be manually downloaded from somewhere?
