 But the menu editor seems fairly lacking.  I can add the menu bar, and
 menus and items.  But to add text, or mneumonics, I have to hand type them
 in.  That isn't too bad, but is there a better way?

 You can set the text, mnemonics, etc by setting the corresponding
 properties on the Properties view. For Swing there's a rather nice
 mnemonic editor on the Properties view.  You can also set text on the
 menu items by right clicking the item in the Java Beans view and
 selecting Set Text.  This'll prompt you inline rather than having to go
 through the Properties view.
