[ANN] RAP 1.5M7 published, API changes [message #871208] |

Hi all,
we've just published M7, the last milestone towards RAP 1.5. It contains
support for SWT.ARROW buttons, markup support for the List widget, new
fly-in and fly-out animations for Shell and Composite, some theme
adjustments and as always, lots of bug fixes.
You can find a more detailed list of changes and bug fixes in our New &
Noteworthy [1].
The M7 build can be downloaded or installed from the usual locations,
see [2].
Please note that we changed some interface names in the new application
API that was introduced in M3. We noticed that the API lead to some
confusion and wanted to change this before the release. The changes are
explained in this post [3]. If you already use this API, please update
your code.
Regards, Ralf

Hi Avrajit,
happy that you're enjoying single sourcing!
At the moment we are all busy delivering 1.5. We usually do our release
planning later in the summer.
But it's true, we already decided that the next version will be a 2.0.
There are some big changes in RAP under way already, such as the new
protocol [1] and the new ApplicationConfiguration API to use RAP without
the Eclipse stack [2].
We're changing RAP incrementally and the 2.0 will mark the completion of
a major rework, the new protocol. This will also involve some new API in
RWT, and deprecated API will be removed. But as long as you don't use a
lot of internal or deprecated API, the migration should be smooth.
We will surely write something about our plans with the next release on
our blog once we've shipped 1.5 and start making plans for 2.0.
Best Regards, Ralf
