Hello,
I'm putting together a software engineering competition at the 2005
Canadian Undergraduate Software Engineering Conference in Ottawa. The
plan is to round up 5-15 teams of 2-3 students and give them three hours
and a set of enhancements to be made to Eclipse or to an Eclipse plug-in.
I'm pretty new at this Eclipse game - I've picked out a couple of
candidate plug-ins (PatternBox and the Metrics Plug-in) but I'm by no
means a qualified judge at this point. I'm wondering if there are any
Eclipse developers in the Ottawa area that would be willing to give up
a Friday night (January 14, to be specific) and act as our celebrity
judges. Duties are to answer questions from competitors, evaluate their
submissions, and produce a verdict within about 24 hours. Rewards are
few - if we're lucky, we might be able to afford lunch. :) The prizes
at stake: glory, and a few books authored by our keynotes. I don't think
the competitors would have it any other way.
If I'm looking in the wrong place, please let me know. If you're interested
in judging or have suggestions for the competition, please drop me a line
or follow-up here.
Thanks,
Mike Smith
