When i want import a Java project, i have not the git+ssh as protocol. (I have ssh, but not git+ssh).
I have created a project on github and i have check it's ok (ssh it's ok, i can connect via ssh with console)

If i want to push my project, i have first to share on a local repository (Team -> Share), but after, Team -> Remote -> Push is disabled (it appear on gray instead of black).

Could you please describe more exactly what you want to achieve and what you have done?

Did you follow the tutorial at http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/User_Guide#Github_Tutorial?

How do you import the project from github?
With which repository do you share your project in eclipse?

Please tell us which menu entries you used in which views.

Github supports 2 kinds of access
-> read only access
-> read/write access

In your case, you should SSH protocol to have a read/write access to your
repository (you can copy the URL from your project page; and clone your
repository in EGIT).

Note: the latest release of EGIT provides a dialog box for selecting Github
projects; and, it improves the import of Github projects...
