Hi,
We often make some changes to our rptdesign files and in this process observed that the file are getting corrupted. By corrupted i meant that, the changes we make are not getting reflected and the reports are not working as expected.
For ex: we display a report with all the cardholders and their transactions, we observed that after running the report for n number of times and making some changes to meet some business requirements, the rptdesign is corrupted and the column that displays cardholder names , is displaying only one name thru out the report in-spite of no logical error.
We had to redo the report to work as expected.
Is there any limitation on the number of time we generate reports using a rptdesign file.?Does rptdesign gets obsolete using it regularly.
FYI
We are using Birt3.7 version
App server:Web logic 10 in linux.
Jdk:1.5
Db:Oracle
Any help regarding this is appreciated.
Thanks,
KKP

No there is no limit. Does the report use parameters to cull the data?

I have never seen one get corrupted in the scenario you describe. Is a
rptconfig file for the report being created in the designer? You could
try to delete it.

No, they are only created in the designer and store the parameters
values of the last run.
