JVM Exit and Frameset failure [message #760501] |

I have an application under Tomcat using the BIRT 2.5.0 libraries. On one server, the application runs normally and when I invoke a BIRT report in either preview or frameset mode I get the anticipated results. On the other server, preview works but __action=frameset brings up the web viewer window empty of content. No errors are written to the log, at least not any log I've found. On that server, I installed the RCP designer and tried to start it - but got JVM exit code = -1.
Both servers have Sun 64-bit JDK 1.6 installed (24 on one, 25 on the other) and have JAVA_HOME defined (the application references that).
Does this set of symptoms ring any bells out there? I'm now told that we previously had another installation where the frameset failure was observed, but that was before I came into the project and nobody tried to see whether BIRT RCP worked.

Look in the workspace folder for *.log and see if a log is created.

BIRT did not even create the workspace folder. I created one manually but nothing got written into it.
I'm going to run the application on that server and see if invoking the report in frameset mode generates anything in the various log file locations.

Richard,
Do you get any logs in the eclipse.exe subdirectories?
