Hi!

My question actually fits into the description... so what is the best way?

There is a second point you should know: I've already tried to install the "Web and Java EE Development"-Thing from download.eclipse.org/releases/ganymede/ as well as the "Web Tools Platform SDK (WTP SDK) 3.1.2" from download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates .. they both ended up in a "Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency."-error.

Please notice that I don't know anything about tomcat.. learning more about it is why I want to set up the IDE.

Regards, Matmarbon

Ignore Ganymede. Download Helios or Indigo, Eclipse IDE for Java EE
Developers.

A detailed tutorial (not written for Helios, but many tell me it works
fine) shows you Eclipse and Tomcat making JSPs. It's a good place to start:

Hope this helps.
