I've downloaded eclipse-java-indigo-SR1-win32.zip from two separate mirrors and it starts extracting and then asks for a password. Any ideas?

Use a third party unzipping tool such as 7-zip or Winzip instead of using Windows built in zip extraction feature.

To expand on this, it's not really password protected. Windows is just
choking on it. You might try downloading again just in case it got
corrupted during your previous attempt.

As has been mentioned earlier in the thread, the downloads are not and have not ever been password protected. The download is either itself corrupted, or your tool for unzipping is not good enough.
