I need a local copy of emf compare 1.1.2 (accesible through t helio 3.6.2 update manager).

I have looked at:

http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/downloads/index.php?project=compare&showAll=0&showMax=5

but its not there. Is it only available for download through eclipse 3.6.2?

You are right, there is no Archived zip for EMF Compare 1.1.2, just the
update site
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/compare/updates/milestones/1.1
