PHP items on "Run as..." menu still visible in Java and other perspectives [message #77745] Mon, 04 August 2008 15:08 Go to next message

I've installed PDT but I also code in Java, Perl and C++. The PHP-related
items on the "Run as..." menu appear whatever the source code file I'm
editing is, and whatever perspective I'm in.

I think this is the wrong behaviour, but even if it's by design, can I
prevent it?

I haven't seen this problem mentioned in my searches here or across the
web, but I can't use very specific search terms.

By comparison, 'Java application' doesn't appear when in the C++
perspective, 'Local C/C++ application' doesn't appear when in the Java
perspective, etc.

I am not a plugin developer and won't be able to understand the full ins
and outs of building an IDE plugin but I don't mind getting into the
detail of how Eclipse builds the "Run as" menu.

I have Eclipse 3.3 and PDT 1.0.3. I also have CDT 4.0.3, and EPIC (Perl)
0.6.24 (installed before PDT).

Again, how can I prevent PHP items appearing on the Run as menu in other
perspectives?

thanks!

Thanks Nick - there's another Eclipse feature I hadn't properly explored.

However, it looks like all it will do is allow me to show or hide the "Run
as" menu in its entirety, not to control which items appearing within the
sub-menu. Have I missed something?
