I really want to install Equinox on Eclipse.

What I currently do is:
1) Make sure Eclipse is shut down
2) Unzip the contents of the equinox-SDK-3.7 ZIP archive into my Eclipse install directory
3) Run Eclipse

I see no changes in Eclipse?

Please somebody help me Embarrassed

Unzipping into an installed hasn't worked since before 3.4.2.

That SDK zip was the Equinox p2 repo. Use Help>Install New Software and create a site/select that local archive. You can then install stuff.

You will need to scrap and re-install your original eclipse, as you've probably overwritten some files when you unzipped over your install.
