Im still new to the edt model and im not sure if I need a structure like element,

The examples make it look like each part is handled on an abstract individual level rather than a hierarchical structural approach with a project -> folder -> package -> file ...

Does or will the EDT model have that sort of package element that inherits from NamedElement?
