Hi,

I found one issue in using Cascading parameter.
I have a report on Student Fee Categories.
Now in this Fee Categories of many Schools are stored.
In general what I used to do is use a Report Parameter SchoolID to filter and pass it to the data set query.

Now suppose I am using cascading parameters for a query. Then From a web viewer in this case the School ID that I used to pass from a Report Parameter was not accepted. At the same time if I do a preview of the report in the BIRT Designer perspective, the School ID is passed.

I am using Galileo and BIRT 2.3 runtime.
Is this something that is already.
If we have the latest BIRT Report Viewer(Tomcat Web deployed) Kindly let me know so that I can download it.

Kind Regards,
Neo

The latest version of BIRT is 2.6.1 and can be downloaded from:
http://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/

Is there any chance you could create a report with the sample database
that shows the issue? or a report that uses a flat file datasource?
This is so we can run it and test it.

Hi Jason,
The issue is not with BIRT runtime. The issue I feel is may be with BIRT Report Viewer(Reason).
If I do a Preview of the report, it works in the way I want, from BIRT Report Viewer(web) it wont.
Where can I find the latest one.

Yes I wil try if I can mimic this with Sample Database. I will do it by this weekend.

Kind Regards,
Sham.

Hi Jason,
I found out couple of issues which may boil down to one issue that happens sometimes. This is replicating even in the Sample Database.
1. The normal Reporting Parameter once if you give a default value to it, even when you try to change the default value it won't be updated.
2. Also when you update a Report Parameter(Text in this case). This won't get updated to Cascading parameter query.

In this case I have used orderList in which there are two input parameters. customer number which comes from the above level cascading parameter and the other one ordernumber which comes from a normal Report Parameter. When you give a value to the Report Parameter The order numbers List won't be updated with this new value of the ordernumber.

This came up before but now when I try to add the code it dint show up. This is the problem I found which is not reproducible as of now.

Kind Regards,
Neo.

Can you open a bugzilla for this?
