There is a powerful way to reference entities from other plugins in the
pool as described in:

http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclips e.platform.doc.isv/reference/misc/platform-scheme-uri.html

A typical use-case is to refer to icons from another plugin.

Does there exist a similar platform encoding to refer to a "bundle
string" from another plugin that are referred to via the %-prefix
locally in the corresponding plugin?

I tried

platform:/plugin/some.plugin.id/%some.string.id

and

%platform:/plugin/some.plugin.id/some.string.id

but both failed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks & Greetings from Bremen,

Daniel Krügler

No, as defined it's only a way to refer to a "file" in another plugin
.... something that can generate an InputStream.
