Hi,
I have created several reports and have noticed when making minor changes such as changing the Margin for the Master Page from 0.25 in to 0.5cm, I am unable to save the change. The save options are all greyed out.
To make save appear I have been making a dummy change to the layout page and even then it still only gives me Save As.

I am starting to work with libraries and am making changes to library settings. Is this an issue?
What am I doing wrong and how can I force save.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Chris

Chris,

Are the reports read only on the file system?

Thanks Jason,
I don't believe so. They are new reports created by me so should not have read only set.
I have been following the reports created in BIRT 2.6 and decided to create my own library to use.
I have created a report with the master page I wanted and then exported it to the library. Then saved the library and the file. I then created a new report and added it to the report along with several other items I wanted in the report from the library.
When making changes to any of these library items in the report in the properties area eg margins, or underline etc, when I go to save the report the save options are greyed out.
I am using 2.52. Is this an issue with it. I can save the report by changing clicking on a field in a table and doing a dummy change on it. Then save as is available.
By the way do you know when BIRT saves a report? It seems to automatically save or is this not true?

Thank you for your time.

Can you try this with 2.6.1?
You should get an indication when you override a library element as
described here:
http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/project/notable2.6.php#j ump_11

The report should auto save when previewing it. Other than that it is a
manual operation.
