Hi

The other day my computer crashed and my eclipse wouldn't restart.

The splash screen would show and the workspace option would show and then it just terminated.

After getting somewhat frustrated and not being able to find any particular reason in any of the logs I decided to re-install the JDK and Helios. A side effect of this was to wipe out my update site list Sad

Now most of my previous plugins don't show up such as M2Eclipse, Spring STS and a few others.

The show up on the about pages for installed plugins but not in the views or dropdown/popup menus.

This also means that I can't reinstall them because Helios says they are already installed.

I've tried the -clean option but to no avail, 've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but with no joy, Helios just states they are already installed.

I cleared the eclipse cache directories and even delete the maven related packages and I still cant reinstall them.

I do NOT want to have to reinstall helios as I have more than 30 packages and plugins installed that took quite a time to setup in the first place.

Does anybody have any idea how to start to recover from this issue?

Steve

Have you tried using a new workspace and then see if you can run the
update? Other than that I would reinstall helios.
