There is an overwhelming amount of documentation available, and I've
spent a fair bit of time looking through it. I was hoping to find
something that gives me a really quick start for something simple like
writing a log record for every method entry and exit in a class. I was
looking for a cook book style document that would show how to instrument
existing java source to generate a log message on entry to a method, and
on every return statement from the method using ajdt.

Is this the sort of use case that ajdt is designed for?

Can someone point me to a cook book for this type of use?

Thanks

Hi,

In all materials I have read so far, I think the Eclipse AspectJ by Adrian
Colyer et al is a very good choice.
