Hi,
if we decide to use Eclipse STP as our preferred SOA development
solution, is there a runtime environment you would recommend?
There is for example JBoss or Apache Axis + Apache ServiceMix + PXE. Is
there one environment which works best with STP regarding the
combination of BPMN (transformation to BPEL required), SCA, JBI etc.?
Greetings
Michael

If you want a good solution that introduces a transformation from BPMN
to BPEL, please check out the Intalio|Designer.
Intalio|Server integrates with JBI (only as part of the enterprise
edition), however we have no support for SCA.
More about it on www.intalio.com or the community website: bpms.intalio.com
Full disclosure: Intalio is my current employer and I work on
Intalio|Designer. Intalio is a member of the Eclipse foundation and I am
a committer over the BPMN component.

Hi thank you all for your answers,
didn't know about FUSE. Sounds interesting too. Ok, obviously there
isn't the one solution that works better with STP than another.
I am very curious about the decision we will make in the next
weeks/month. We decided to replace our proprietary SOA solution with
complete Open Source products.

Hi Oisin,
I am working at the university. We are doing research in the context of
service oriented architectures. Thus the switch from commercial to open
source soa tools vendors especially affects our students who do
practical courses and learn how to develop service oriented solutions.
We teach our students the soa development process, beginning with
process modeling, service design and development, deploying in
application servers etc.
Greetings
Michael
