Hi all,

still in the process of developing an Eclipse RCP client for web
co-browsing and shared whiteboard using ECF XMPP provider...

Often, such sharing applications need to be able to restore the state of
an ongoing conversation to participants. For this, the XMPP MUC history
may be used. However the beginning of this history should be set to the
actual beginning of the ongoing conversation or session.

I think it would be desirable to be able to set standard XMPP history
options on chat rooms from ECF, at the SharedObject / SharedContainer
level. Smack allows it.

any idea? is this planed for future releases ?

regards,

Denis.

This would entail introducing a new small API for setting history
options. Not terribly difficult since, as you say, the Smack
implementation already supports this.

Not yet. It would be best if you filed a bug/enhancement request for
ECF project, so this doesn't get lost/forgotten about. So would you
mind filing a bug for this at

http://bugs.eclipse.org

Thanksinadvance,

Scott
