Hello.

I am a new plug-in developer for Eclipse. I noticed that mylyn has a unique way of doing persistence, where it stores zipped xml files. I was wondering why was this decision originally made? Also, I would like to know if there is a more standard way of doing persistence in Eclipse, such that if I work on my own plug-in, I can somehow save time in not needing to do all the persistence code myself.
