Using Tptp 4.1 : Tptp monitor correctly attaches to a remote agent controler
but doesn't collect any data (memory analysis for instance)
RAC is installed on a remote SUN Solaris server wich isn't on the same
subnet as the "Tptp station".
RAC is configured to accept connections from ALL hosts and resides on server
wich is visible from all others stations.
Does RAC make a back connection to the TPTP monitor to send data ?
Is there special considerations when on different subnets ?

Note : This Tptp installation works perfectly with a local agent and with a
remote agent in the same subnet.

Hi,

Yes, RAC does open a connection back to the Eclipse workbench. There are
a few things you may need to check:

1. If there is a firewall on the workbench machine (where Eclipse and
TPTP is running), it should be allowing incomming connection from the
remote machine where the RAC is running. Unfortunately, the port used on
the workbench side is random and cannot be determined in advanced.
Therefore, as long as the connection is coming from the RAC side, any
port should be allowed.
2. Make sure the workbench machine is "visible" to the RAC machine. This
can be done by checking both the "nslookup" and "ping" command.
