Hello. I'm trying to create/modify my RCP product splashscreen so that I can have full access to the the Splash Shell all the time.

Basically, what I want to do is change the shell image in real-time when a plugin is loaded, put custom text (replace the "Loading Wrkbench" text), mix images, etc.

I have read articles about using the org.eclipse.ui.splashHandlers extension, but this splash screen extension point takes affect when the Workbench is starting up, right after the workspace-choose dialog. I understand that it is possible to use the StartupMonitor earlier, but I couldn't find a clean example anywhere.

Any help is much appreciated.
