Can't disable SVN integration [message #518113] Wed, 03 March 2010 06:54 Go to next message

I installed the Subversion plugins a few days ago, and I have a project that is checked out of a subversion repository.

How can I tell Eclipse to just quit using SVN integration alltogether? SVN integration attempts to be TOO helpful to the point of being annoying and disruptive.

Every time I touch the project files now, I get asked for my SVN password or the plink window flashes. A single click Plink to run to open up in PLink with one TWENTY TIMES (once for each file !?!), and with another connector an equal number of dialog boxes asking for my login information.

I don't like this integration. I want to disable this and just use my command line client.

Help.
Thanks.

Hi Richard,

since I do not know what "PLink" is, I cannot tell you why you get so many password prompts.

Our team is working with Subversive for nearly two years now. So it cannot be so bad, IMHO it is
quite good, while it may be still improved.

So in the first place: Which version do you use?

And if you want to get rid of it:

Just go to Help / Installed software and de-install it.

Cheers, Jörg

Plink is an SSH authenticator that some SVN clients use to log you into a subversion repository using a private key store.

I have uninstalled everything related to SVN: Subversion, Subverse, etc.... everything.

Yet, Eclipse sees my subversion hidden files and keeps trying to log me into the SVN repository. It acts as if it's doing an SVN diff on each and every file, or checking status, etc...

Something's definitely broke.

Did you configure Subversive to use that private key? Or is PLink just some sort of proxy
which is to be used by Subversive?

Hmmm, sound strange. How could Subversive operate if it is de-installed.

Anyway, sometimes closing and re-opening your projects does fix some strange behaviours.

Did you try this?
