We use the CDateTime without the CDT.TAB_FIELDS bit. Thus, when tabbing
into a CDateTime, the whole string is selected and the contents is
erasable by hitting DEL.

What we are missing is the possibility to start writing a date on the
keyboard. One first has to press ARROW_LEFT or something to select the
first field. After that a user can write a date on the keyboard.

To "fix" this I have opened a bugzilla entry
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=224574 and provided a patch.
