Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem... I did not find anything here yet...
I have installed:
- Fedora 12
- Sun JRE/JDK
- removed all traces of gcj etc...
- gnome / gnome window manager
- gtk2-2.18.3-19.fc12.i686
I had eclipse ganymede SR2 installed. I upgraded to galileo SR1, in hopes my problem would go away. Both versions are affected.
My problem is that when I open certain wizards, clicking on certain buttons does not work properly... for example:
- Open the file/search dialog
- click in the "Containing text" area and type in a search string
- click on 'search'
The search button will sometimes sink in when I hover over it.
Other times, the hover does not work.
Clicking on the search button puts the focus on the search button, as indicated by the dashed lines around the border.
However, that's all... the search does not start. If I press the space bar when the button has focus, it operates correctly.
This also affects the "Replace.." button.
The Cancel button is another story...
If I have not clicked the search button, it operates correctly.
If I *have* clicked the search button, then I must click twice on the cancel button for it to operate correctly. Clicking once still indicates that the search button still has focus!
Other affected wizards include New Project, Install New Software, etc...
By contrast, "Customize Perspective" operates correctly.
I am guessing that this is an SWT problem... sorry if I'm in the wrong place.
Workaround is to keep your thumb on the spacebar and mouse-click/space to activate the buttons.
Thanks for any help!
Jamie.

See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=291257 (its comment 1
provides a workaround that can be used in the meantime).
