Hello,
I am a newbie to TPTP, so please correct/redirect me, if I'm writing at wrong place, or the answer is already somewhere out there, or I am simply missing something.
I have recently installed TPTP 4.6.1 on my Eclipse Galileo distribution. As a result the 'Profile' launch menu showed up and for each launch configuration a 'Monitor' tab was present.
Soon therafter I decided to give JProfiler a try, as I was not able to bring 'Collect object references' option into play for JVMTI-based TPTP profiler that I needed to trace memory leaks (which is, BTW another issue with TPTP profiling that I encountered:).
The JProfiler plugin uses the same 'Profile' launch menu and now the user has to decide himself (either per launch configuration, or in global workspace settings), which Launcher (in this case TPTP or JProfiler) to use. This is OK, but the thing is that now I don't see the 'Monitor' tab in the launch configuration any more. It happens no matter what launcher I actually choose. I suppose that after choosing the TPTP launcher for given configuration, the 'Monitor' tab shoould be visible. Otherwise the TPTP profiler is not really usable, e.g. I cannot choose the data collector and what kind of profiling (memory/execution/etc.) I want to do. Is there any fix/workaround for that?

Hi,
The 'Collect Object Reference' option in TPTP is only available for JVMPI
based profiler , ie. for JRE 1.4.2 only.
JVMTI profiler no longer support the option and it is replaced with Object
Allocation option instead.
Regarding the compatibility between TPTP And JProfiler, it has not been
tested and It sonuds like there is a bug in the launcher switcher code. I
suggest you try only install one profiler at a time for now (I prefer TPTP
=) and open a defect for the problem you saw.
