Hi everybody!

i think my question is a bit stupid but i thinked the task would have been easier Razz

i had to format my hard disk and I obviously saved the directory of my eclipse workspaces, then I re-installed tha same eclipse version (ganymede 3.4.1) and told eclipse where to find the workspace.

everything seems ok but when i select the workspace, i can't see anything in the project explorer or in the outline at the right.

do i have to import something?
should i have saved something else besides the workspace directory?

thank you very much for helping...

lou

p.s. my OS is windows XP

Can you try importing your project?

i didn't export my previous project (I just saved the folders) and I don't have an archive file so I don't know how to import them...
I go to "import existing projcet into workspace" , but if I select "root directory" I just can select the folder of my previous project without anything appearing in the box below, so I can't push the botton "finish" Sad

Stab in the dark...

Have tried launching Eclipse on the workspace in question and then
re-creating the projects as if new?

For example, let's say you had a Dynamic Web Project named foo. You
create a new DWP in the workspace named foo, leave the source to be in
the same, default place and then see if it appears magically.

You may need to delete some of the configuration files such as
..settings, .project, etc. You have the workspace backed up, so give this
more radical solution a try and play around with it.

I have done this successfully for deleted projects. As I say, it's just
a stab in the dark.

maybe I didn't understand what you exactly mean with "a stub in the dark" (my English is not so good)... but IT WORKS!!!

I've just created new java projects with the same names of the previous ones, without the need to delete any configuration file.

thank you so much!! Very Happy

English expression: a stab (of a knife) in the dark == an act of
desperation.

Glad to help!
