Computing Additional Info Lag [message #494293]

When doing CTRL + SPACE on objects, content assist engages and in the information bar "Computing Additional Info" appears and causes random lag (10-30 seconds).

Have tried disabling all options except Java Proposals in Advanced section of Content Assist settings, but that doesn't seem to have any effect. Up to 6 operations appear in the progress bar all titled "Computing Additional Info".

System:
- 64-bit Windows 7
- 32-bit or 64-bit JDK & Eclipse (tried both)
- Eclipse Classic 3.5.1 with Web Tools Platform

Did not see the problem on Windows XP, seems to only be on Vista or Windows 7 (from posts found on other sites). May be exclusive to 64-bit??

If anyone knows how to fix or can offer any assistance, would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Which editor? Does it also block the UI? Do you mean the status line
with With "information bar"?

Java EE perspective, Java Editor (Eclipse default).

It doesn't block the UI per se, but it interferes very badly. The lag pretty much prevents me from doing anything a lot of the time (especially if I am not done with the content assist). Multiple Computing Additional Info tasks will "line up" in the Progress list.

Yes, the status line with the information bar. I think its called the Progress Bar actually isn't it? If you click on the funky little symbol on the right side of the bar it opens the Progress view.
