Can you give some more details on how you are running the report? What
version of BIRT etc?

hi,

thx for the reply. All I am doing in following the tutorial in the book "Field guide to reporting in BIRT" (second edition,by Diaana Peh and co) chapter 17(Using Chart)

I hv BIRT installed as a plugin on top of Zend Studio and the Zend studio update manager tells me the version is as follows
BIRT Chart Runtime Feature 2.3.0
BIRT reposrt designer framework 2.2.2
(none of them can be updatable via Zend Studio Update Manager as it says there are no update available eventho obviosly there is--I dont know whay it says so...)

(i hv attached the complete screenshot of the version info)

but rest of tutorials I hv tried works fine including Crosstab.so I beleive its just a plugin for chart that causing the problem....chart is in SVG format.

it preview it appears all ok as the book says but the moment I apply finish in the chart creation wizard just a default one appears not one witht he dataset I gave.

I tried it with different dataset and the problem is same....

Can you log a request at the Zend site? It definitely looks like a
version mismatch. You may want to download the allinone for 2.2.2 or
the latest version of birt and try it.
