Hi Mowry,

I'm adding the eclipse.platform.ua for follow-ups to this thread. That's
the newsgroup that is focused on the help system, dynamic help, cheat
sheets, etc.

One question: for your RCP app, do you want to have the Help preference
showing, or would like a way to remove it?

Or do you mostly want to solve the problem of why nothing happens when
you click on the help icon for the Help preference?

Best regards,
Lee Anne

It sounds as though you don't have the plugin installed which contains
the help contexts which is org.eclipse.platform.doc.user. If you install
that you should start to see context help but you will also see a lot of
documents for the Eclipse Platform which don't apply to you.

It seems that your choices are to live with no context help for the help
preference page, import more documents than you want to, write your own
preference page, or provide your own context help for that one page.

Hi Mowry,

Good to hear that you found the problem you were facing!

The eclipse.platform.ua is the best forum to ask about the help system
or cheat sheets or the Welcome/Intro, because the Eclipse.org team that
develops those items tends to look at that newsgroup.

To add eclipse.platform.ua, what newsreader are you using to access
eclipse.plaform.rcp? I use Thunderbird, and I add eclipse.platform.ua
the same as I added eclipse.platform.rcp.

About your search question, I think there might be a related bug about
seeing that XML coding when doing a search. Are you familiar with
Eclipse Bugzilla?

You should post your question about the search to the
eclipse.platform.ua newsgroup and see if someone knows the precise reason.

Best regards,
Lee Anne
