Hi all,

I read a thread in eclipse.tools.uml2 (dated Oct 2006) the UML Profile for
extended metadata was not supported. What is the current status ? I think it
is very important feature. If it isn't supported now, is there a workaround
solution?

Best regards

Yves,

I believe this has already been addressed in response to
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=159855.

Hi Kenn,

Thanks for the quick reply. Could you tell me how to create corresponding
ecore model for an extended metadata ? Same as what you did with UML2, you
have UML.metadata.uml and also the corresponding UML.ecore. For me, I have
my metamodel which is an extension of UML2, how I create the corresponding
ecore file? Is the "UML to Ecore" conversion enough?

Hi Yves,

If you select your .uml file then, right click and select New > Eclipse
Modeling Framework > EMF Model > Next..> Next..>UML model. Click "load"
.... then Finish.

The result should be a .genmodel and .ecore file.

Cheers,

- James.

I spent some time to make solution work. I wrote a draft tutorial, which may
be helpful for others:

All comments are welcome.
