The Eclipse Foundation does not condone cracking any commercial software
and will report anyone found to have done so or to have assisted in
doing so.

Until there is a free COBOL compiler for Eclipse the foundation should void
any improvements in the tool.

There are a few choices for free COBOL compilers (some are open source and
others are commercial but have "free" aka no charge versions). There would
likely be "some assembly required" to add support for the different
compilers.

Some open source ones appear to be active -
http://tiny-cobol.sourceforge.net/index.php has an update on July 21, 2005.

Here are some lists of available compilers. I have played with the free
fujistu v3 but not the others.
