Problem packaging JAR's as plugins for RCP development [message #464699] Tue, 13 March 2007 17:19

Hi.
I am attempting to create Eclipse plugins to package supporting JAR's (e.g.,
Oracle access) to support my RCP development. Things work as advertised,
creating a plugin project using the "plugin from existing JAR archives" and
then exporting the plugin project to a "Deployable plug-in". Here's the
problem. When I copy the resulting plugin JAR to my Eclipse plugin directory
and restart Eclipse, I can no longer run the Update Manager on my
configuration. I get an Update Manager "internal error".

Is there something I need to include in the plugin Manifest that let's
Eclipse know that this plugin is to be integrated? Or is there something
I'm not understanding.

Thanks in advance for any advice on this topic.
