I am attempting to transform a UML model to another form. I have created a
simple tool using the EMF and UML APIs that allows me to query data from the
UML model, but I have to export the UML model to a *.UML file first. In
doing so I lose the location of the nodes. I need the location to help
locate the transformed nodes.
Are there similar EMF libraries for accessing the emx file directly without
having to export to UML? The emx contains the node coordinates.
Thanks,
Stewart

Hi, Stewart,
By "emx" you mean Rational Software Architect/Modeler files?
It's all the same API. The contents of these files are just the same UML
model that you access using the UML API. Annotations (that store diagrams)
are accessed using the Ecore API from EMF (EAnnotation), and the diagrams
are accessed using GMF's Notation model API.
Cheers,
Christian
