This was a lot of work.
I've used about 1000 hours to create it, 12 hours every day.

But nothings prevents you from starting your own project. :-)

You might wonna check out the Luxor XUL Toolkit. Although it's not a
Form Designer per-se its half-way there. You can use a super-compact
easy-to-read easy-to-parse XML format to describe your forms.

By the way, the point of XUL is to break the vendor lock-in and let you
choose whatever Forms Designer you like. Unfortunately, for now Forms
Designer for XUL are rare creatures.

Anyway, if you're interested check out the Luxor XUL site @
http://luxor-xul.sourceforge.net

For more info about XUL check out the XUL Alliance site @

Yeah, right. All is does is lock you into vendors that support that format.
You can just as easily "break" vendor lock in by using a GUI builder that
can read and write a variety of formats. One of our goals with SWT Designer
is to allow you to read and write in whatever style appeals you.

Eric, what XML UI formats does SWT Designer support? Have you published
your very own XML UI format? Can you post a link? Is it open and
royality-free? Do you cooperate with others to work on an XML UI spec?

None. It reads and writes pure SWT code. If your intent is to build an SWT
user interface, that's all you need.

No...and we don't intend to.

> Is it open and royality-free?

Since we read and write pure SWT code, the answer is yes.
